Programming Projects

Hi everyone,
Several students did optional computer projects this year.  The first is a finite field calculator, which will multiply elements of a finite field.  These are respresented as polynomials in x, a primitive element.  To find out what polynomial is being used to generate the finite field, try multiply the appropriate power of x.

The second is a permutation calculator.  It will conjugate, multiply and find inverses for permutations on as many as 9 elements.

Enjoy and happy holidays everyone!
